We were out the door by 6:43.
We showed up at our polling place.
I got in line while Will found a parking space and then he joined me.
Minutes later, the line stretched around the block.
Finally, the polls opened and the line started to move.
We went in, voted, and left. And the line was even longer.
We didn't hear anyone complaining about waiting in line. My thought is if you'll get up early to wait in line for Black Friday bargains, if you'll show up hours ahead of time before concert tickets go on sale, if you'll camp out for days to be the first in line to see Star Wars...an hour or so of your time to vote for President of the United States - not to mention ensuring equal rights for everyone, establishing humane treatment and conditions for farm animals, and allowing young women to continue to make their own decision about their bodies - shouldn't be a big deal.
I hope that this is an amazing day.
I think it will be.
Now go read this.
