Actual debate from my job that lasted hours:

Would a pair of shoes use a singluar or plural reflexive pronoun when talking to itself?

The answer that stopped the debate? An episode of The Simpsons where Otto's shoes talk to him.(Don't worry, Otto. We won't hurt you.)
