Just a quick clarification regarding yesterday's post (both mine and Mr. Boy's): he was not going to pee on the ring, he was going to pee with the ring on. Although Older Slackbrother J. came up with an alternate suggestion to keep the ring safe.
Anyway, there's been little time to solve mysteries here at the Slackmistress & BetheBoy Detective Agency. So today I thought I'd do something a little different and allow myself to be interviewed by my partner. You can see the results of his interview (not by me) here. I was positive his questions were all going to be about robots and makeouts and dogs. Clearly my Detective Work needs some work.
1 – What inspired you to start The Slack Daily and what inspires you to continue?
Back in 2002, people kept bugging me to start up a daily blog as an adjunct to the slack, which I updated weekly. By that point I had been exposing myself online for nearly five years, and I thought how much more do they want to know? I wasn't hooked into the blogging world, so I just put up a livejournal on November 15th, 2002. However, as the blogging world grew, I realized that while a community like livejournal was great, it didn't really get me out there to the world at large. So I made the transition to my Big Boy Blog back in 2006.
What inspires me to continue? I know I say this a lot but I've been blogging since before "blogging" was a word (I think). I'm 34, and I've been doing this for ten years. I don't know how not to do it at this point. As a writer, I think it's good practice to keep yor writing chops up. But the occasional fan letter always helps. 2 - In your
writing you frequently mention about your Russian heritage and this brings to
mind an obvious question: Given the choice
to make out with Stalin or Khrushchev, who do you chose and why?
But going on looks alone, I'd say Stalin. That moustache has to tickle. Besides, who wants to kiss a guy who takes his shoe off in public?
3- Do you want
to know who reads your stuff? Of course I do. The weird thing with me is that unlike a lot of bloggers, I don't know most of my readers. A lot of people have been with me since I started the slack, and there wasn't any way to interact outside of email. So a good portion of my reading audience doesn't interact with me because they're just not used to it. I wish they would. 4 – Has there
been anything you have written that you wished you could have back once it was
posted?
5 – What can
Slack Daily readers expect in the future? Wedding photos (sorry), maybe some more penis talk. Detective Agency antics, some whining, hopefully some good news and maybe, just maybe, a videoblog or two. If anyone's got any requests, you know where to find me. The rules of this game are supposed to end with me saying "post here and I'll ask you five questions." But I hate rules. So if you'd like to steal these for yourself, please do.
